Streaks and Emotions is a creative portrait series of photographs based on how we, as people, express our emotions. This series is expressed using a technique called “Shutter Dragging,” where you set your camera’s shutter speed slower than 1/15s, incorporate flash, and have a continuous source of light, which creates a streak of light, whether the subject moves or the camera moves. Here, I used coloured continuous lighting, the colour representing the emotion that is portrayed by the subject. Another element I’ve added to these photographs is hand-written statements on what the subject feels about their particular emotion, and I overlaid it on top of their photograph.
